Arap Mosque is located in Nafe Street which is between Karakoy and
Azapkapl. Some think that it was built by the Arabs during the blockade, however the predominant thought is that it was a Genoese mosque transformed into a mosque in the period of Fatih in the name of Galata Mosque. The emplacement of exile Andalusia Arabs who came from Spain in 1492 caused the mosque's name to be changed into Arab Mosque.
A number of Genoese grave stones were found during the repairing works made in 1913 and put into Archaeology Museum.
