Native name: Bozdogan Kemeri
Bozdogan Aqueduct was built between 368 and 373 on the lower section of the water road that is brought to the city from channels outside the city wall to provide water to Constantinople. It was started by Byzantine emperor Constantine and completed by Valens in the 4th century A.D. Justinian II and Valens ordered the construction of the second tier as well. During the Ottoman empire, Mehmet the Conqueror and architect Sinan had made restoration and enlargement to the Aqueduct. The original length of the Aqueduct was 1 Km from which 971 meters are preserved till today. The highest point is 29 meters high, however the aqueduct appears lower than in the Roman and Byzantine times because the ground level has risen up to 6m.
