Native Name: Dolmabahce Camii
Dolmabahce Mosque is located on the Bosphorus. It is part of the palace complex and can be found in the southern part of Dolmabahce Palace. Construction of the mosque began by Bezmia lem Valide Sultan (1807-53), the regent and mother of Sultan Abdülmecid. When she died, Sultan Abdülmecid took over the throne and continued the building which was completed in 1855 by the architect Karabet Balyan.
The main are of the mosque is square planned roofed by a single dome. The double floored Sultan's (maksoorah) is located adjacent to the entrance facade and appears as if it was a separate building from the mosque.
