Islands - Adalar



Native name: Prens Adaları Adalar (also known as Princes Islands) are a collection of nine islands located in the Sea of Marmara, off the coast of Istanbul, and they are considered one of the districts of Istanbul Province. There are four larger islands, Büyükada (meaning "Large Island") with an area of 5.36 km² and is the largest one, Heybeliada (meaning "Saddlebag Island") with an area of 2.4 km², Burgazada (referring to the name of a mythological figure in Greek) with an area of 1.5 km², Kınalıada (meaning "Henna Island"), the closest island to Istanbul with an area of 1.3 km².
