Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Mosque is located in the Kadirga neighborhood of the Eminönü district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was designed by Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan for Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmet Pasha (the husband of one of the granddaughters of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, Princess Esmahan. Construction of the mosque was between 1571 to 1572. The mosque is supposed to be officially named after Princess Esmahan, however it is commonly associated far more with her famous husband.
