Yildiz Mosque was built near Yildlz Palace between 1885-86 by Abdulhamit II (1876-1909). It is located in Beşiktaş province, Barbaros Boulevard on the Yıldız Palace road. The mosque is an interesting example of the last period of Ottoman Architecture. It has some rich interior decorations which are not seen in any of the othrer mosques. There are monumental facade views in the direction of Entry and on the mihrab wall that attract attention. On the right and the left sides, there are rectangular planned apartments accessed by a staircase. The right apartment is an adorned envoy room which was dedicated for the diplomatic envoys. The one on the left side is the higly ornamented maksoorah of the sultan with oil-paintings covered ceiling.
