Turkish Name: Zoodohu Pege "Balikli" Kilisesi
Zoodohu Pege Church is located far away from the city walls, at Kazhcesme which is within Zeytinburnu region among Ballkh Ayasma (Holy Spring), the most famous ayasma of Istanbul, Merkezefendi and Silivrikaps graveyards.
The ayasma of the church was founded in the era of Emperor Leon I (457-474) as a health center. After the church and ayasma were made, the region outside of the city gained importance. The church itself was subject to many repairing during Byzantine period. It was wholly reconstructed by Patriarchate Constantine I in 1834.
