Turkish Name: Azize Eufemia Kilisesi
Saint Eufemia Church is located between Firuz Aga Mosque and the Court House . An area in the west of the Antiochus Palace was in ruins in the 7th century . This area was turned into a church in the name of saint Eufemia who was the saint of Khalkedon (kadlkoy) who was martyred on 16th of September 303 A . D , when Christianity was not yet widely spread .
In this church , architectural remains and frescos regarding the life of Saint Eufemia were found during the excavation works of 1939 and 1942 . The relics of Saint Eufemia were first kept at this church , but now they are kept at Hagios Georgios Church which is Fener Patriarchate Church today .
