Sahaflar Bazaar is a second-hand book bazaar. Its entrance is located across the Fesçiler Door of Grand Bazaar. It is in the old courtyard between Beyazid Mosque and Grand Bazaar. On its current place, there was the Chartoprateia or the book and paper market of the old Byzantine city. In the 18th century, booksellers left their original place at Grand Bazaar and settled here. The market was expanded after that thanks to printing and publishing legislation introduced at that time.
