This room is the death place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk , who is the founder of the republic and first president of Turkey . As his health began to deteriorate , he spent his last days in Dolmabahce Palace . He finally died at 9:05 a . m . on November 10 , 1938 , in this bedroom which is part of the museum today . All the clocks in the palace were set to that time at 9:05 a . m . However , clocks were then changed and are now set on different times around the palace . Only the clock in this room is still pointing to 9:05 a . m .
